　　1974年的時候，你在做什麼？聽到這個音樂，是否讓你想起了什麼？

　　可以很肯定，我是從台灣的西洋音樂教父－余光先生，在警廣主持「熱門音樂」的節目中，第一次聽到這首曲子。拿出算盤撥一撥，啊，那年我還是個小學生呢，怪不得，當年祇會用注音符號唸英文的我，光Unlimited Orchestra就不知道怎麼拼了，怎記得住那些成串嚼舌的什麼跟什麼呢。

　　－突然想起〝阿爸伊在賣玻璃杯、阿爸伊在賣玻璃杯跟賣掃把〞Sorry，岔題了~~

　　多年來，只能靠著碰運氣回味這首音樂，每當旋律聲起，心情就像飛機緩緩起飛，漸漸昇至高空，窗外的世界豁然開闊...腦海中自然浮現出無邊際的海藍色天空，啊，總是那麼令人舒暢啊，難怪航空公司要選它當廣告曲，真的很適合，不是麼。

　　Love Unlimited Orchestra - Love's Theme

　　Love Unlimited Orchestra 由集唱片監製、歌手、創作人於一身的 Barry White 一手創辦。Barry White 原名為 Barry Eugene White (1944-2003)，生於 Texas，長於 L.A. 南部。15歲時因盜竊入獄，其後發奮圖強，並計劃作音樂發展。

　　早在60年代初期，他已擔任作曲及編曲的工作，直到1969年他發掘了由三個女生所組成的 Love Unlimited，並為她們在 20th Century Records 旗下監製唱片，之後他與組合的主音 Glodean James 成婚。

　　後來唱片公司有見他為新人灌錄 Demo，於是積極鼓勵他走到幕前，想不到首張單曲「I'm Gonna Love You Just a Little More Baby」即於1973年登上 Billboard 第3位。而他為 Love Unlimited 製作《Under the Influence Of...》(1973/20th Century)專輯，當中的開場曲「Love’s Theme」被電台DJ熱播，於是唱片公司即以  Love Unlimited Orchestra 名義把「Love’s Theme」作單曲發行，它不單得到 Billboard 流行榜冠軍位置，並且更成為 Disco 中的經典。

　　其實 Love Unlimited Orchestra 的組成，本來是為著 Love Unlimited 伴奏，卻沒想到他們演奏的「Love’s Theme」，卻開創了跳舞音樂的潮流。這隊由40人組成的樂團，當時的成員包括後來成名的 Saxophone 樂手 Kenny G。

　　70年代，國泰航空公司的廣告CF採用了「Love’s Theme」，所以那 Intro 常給我飛機起飛的感覺，後來發現自己一張雜錦 CD中，收錄了一個 Vocal Version。原來它以 Love Unlimited Orchestra 名義獨立發行後，翌年 Love Unlimited 在《In Heat》專輯中灌錄了一個 Vocal Version，同年 Barry White 的《Rhapsody in White》專輯又再度收錄了純音樂版。

　　Love Unlimited 及 Love Unlimited Orchestra 上榜的歌曲，皆出現於 1972-1975 之間，為數不多，大部份熱門歌曲都屬 Barry White。他的歌聲帶磁性，由他翻唱 Billy Joel 的「Just The Way You Are」便很具特色。其他代表作尚有：

　　「Never Never Gonna Give Ya Up」(1973)、

　　「Can’t Get Enough Of Your Love Babe」(1974)、

　　「You’re The First, The Last My Everything」(1974)、

　　「What Am I Gonna Do With You (1975) 及

　　「 It’s Ecstasy When You Lay Down Next To Me」 (1977) 等。

　　他的音樂屬 Soul 及 Disco，至今仍然很受人歡迎。他於2003年病逝，死時58歲，2004年被列入 Dance Music Hall Of Fame。
